Keys to Success – Goal Setting

Success is not a matter of luck. To achieve the things that you want in life you have to have goals that you are willing to put your all into striving towards.

The first step to success is to clearly define your goals. Figure out what it is that you want and what steps need to be taken to achieve it. By doing this, you’re creating one large goal that can seem nearly unreachable, but by defining the steps needed to achieve that goal, you’re also creating many smaller achievable goals.

Once you have clearly defined your goals, write them down. Put a copy on your wall next to your computer, on your fridge, on the bathroom mirror, where ever your more likely to see it. It can also be a good idea to carry a copy around with you throughout the day so that it’s never too far from your mind.

Visualize your goals. For example, if your goal is to lose weight visualize yourself at your goal weight. Be specific. Exactly how much do you want to weigh, what will you do when you achieve that goal, visualize yourself taking the steps to visualize that goal (eating right and exercising).

Consider making a vision board. This board will help remind of you of the future that you want to achieve, so it’s a good idea to put it in your bedroom where you can look at it often. The vision board will help you to ‘visualize’ your goals and keep them in your mind throughout the day.

Most importantly Stay on Course. Don’t expect your goals materialize as quickly as you would like. Realizing your goals still takes time. As I said, it’s not about luck, it’s about putting forth your all towards achieving your goals, writing them down and visualizing those goals are the best steps you can take towards realizing your dream.
