It’s Never Too Late To Be Who You Were Meant To Be

The Universe loves us, all of us, and it wants us to be happy, live in abundance and achieve the success we seek – however we define success. If you’ve been struggling to achieve the level of success you know you’re capable of, but just can’t seem to make it stop beating yourself up. It is never too late to be who you were meant to be.
If you’re stuck in a 9-5 job that is soul crushing, it might seem like you’ll never reach your dream of writing that best seller or inventing the next best thing that everyone wants to have. Maybe your dream is to paint beautiful landscapes from around the world, but you can’t seem to save enough to travel to the next county. Maybe what’s stopping you isn’t a job your stuck in (or afraid to leave), or lack of funds, maybe you’ve got your hands full with caring for the people you love – children or parents.
These days we’re so busy being who everyone else wants us and needs us to be, that we lose sight of being who we were meant to be.
If this sounds like you, and you’re losing faith that you’ll ever get to pursue your dreams, or you fear there’s not enough time left for you to become a success at whatever it is you choose to pursue, don’t. Don’t lose faith, so many people achieved success – sometimes stunning success – well after their 40th birthday.
It might seem like success is only available to those who can harness the power of Youtube or Instagram, but that’s a myth. Success is available to anyone. It might come in a different form, it might be a bigger challenge, but it’s out there.
Famous People who Found Success After 40
Julia Child was 50 when she wrote her first cookbook.
Ray Kroc was 52 when he bought his first McDonald’s.
Laura Ingalls Wilder was 65 when she published the first Little House books.
Grandma Moses ( Anna Mary Roberstons Moses) started painting when she was 78 years old.
Vera Wang tried her hand at journalism and figure skating before she tried fashion design at age 40.
Harland Sanders was 62 when he franchised his first Kentucky Fried Chicken
If you want to find success in your later years you’ll need to do a few things to help the universe help you achieve success.
- Get super clear about what you want. If you don’t know what you want to do, the universe is going to have a tough time helping you out. If you’re unclear about what you want to achieve, take some time meditating on it. Daydream – what is it you find your mind wandering to during those boring meetings or while waiting in the drop-off line at school. What do you imagine yourself doing if time, money and responsibilities weren’t a factor.
- Have Faith. It might not seem like you’re on the right path to achieving your dreams, but have faith in God, the universe, or whatever your higher power is. It’s working on getting you there, even if it doesn’t feel like it all the time.
- Don’t Worry. Stop worrying about how you’re going to reach your dream and just start doing the things that get you in the general direction. Leave the worry for your higher power.
- Just Do It, Already. If you’re dream is to write the next bestseller then start writing. Even if you don’t know what to write about the act of writing every day is a great way to practice and hone your skills. Start a blog, and write in it everyday. Not only will your writing get better, but you’ll develop an audience who will support you when your book comes out.
- Believe. You have to believe that you’ve already achieved the success you seek. Fake it til you make it. Anyone who has achieved success will tell you have to act like you’ve already achieved the success in order to actually achieve it. There are thousands of books written on this phenomenon and it would be well worth your time to read as many as you can.
The bottom line is this, if you want your life to change, at any age, then you have to do things differently. Whether that’s taking a night class in pottery making or learning how to drive a race car change won’t come if you do the same things you’ve been doing. Make one small change at a time and you’ll be on your way to the success you know you will achieve.
